About BNS (Bahrain Nagarathar Sangam)
– Objectives of the Group
- To function as a non-profit, charitable, and non-political organization.
- To arrange regular get-togetherswith contributions from members, helping everyone stay connected through activities such as spiritual walks, monthly Sashti, and Thiruppugal recitations.
- To welcome and support newly arrived Nagarathars(bachelors or families), helping them feel at home and comfortable with the Sangam members, even while being away from their family, friends, and relatives.
- For new members, an enrollment formis to be completed and submitted to the Admin Team.
- To teach and pass on our heritage, cultural values, and traditions of hospitalityto the next generation.
- To provide financial assistance, through member contributions, towards education and marriage for community members in our hometown.
- To ensure transparency and fairness, the Charity Wing Committee Members will meet every quarter to review applications received for requesting the Education and Marriage assistance and select deserving beneficiaries, based on the funds available.
- Based on members’ consensus, the Sangam will also extend assistance to cases of critical illness, starting from this year.
- The Sangam will not engage in fundraising events; all contributions to charity will be made voluntarily by BNS members.
- To organize two gatherings per year(one in summer and one in winter), coordinated by the Event Committee, featuring fun activities, games, and cultural performances by members.
- To maintain accountability, the annual balance sheet will be shared with all members during the year-end get-together, ensuring transparency and paving the way for collective growth.
- To celebrate the Nagarathar’s unique heritage festival, Pillayar Nonbu, hosted by any one member each year on a first-come-first-serve basis, with priority given to first-time hosts.
The Bahrain Nagarathar diaspora, with its roots in the Chettinad region around Karaikudi, not only built a life in Bahrain but also carried forward a rich legacy of enterprise, philanthropy, and devotion. While settling in Bahrain, they fostered economic progress and, at the same time, preserved strong cultural and spiritual ties through spiritual festivals, and community networks. Even while living abroad, the diaspora continues to uphold the timeless values of unity, tradition, and service that define the Nagarathar identity.
With this vision of bringing the diaspora together under one umbrella, a sapling of Bahrain Nagarathar Sangam (BNS) was planted on ………., through the initiative of Mr. Annamalai along with a few likeminded members. From that humble beginning, it has steadily grown into a flourishing tree, now representing around 40 families — a respected and notable Sangam that connects back to the proud traditions of the Chettinad region.
பஹரைன் நகரத்தார் சமூகத்தினர், காரைக்குடி யைப் சுற்றியுள்ள செட்டிநாடு பிரதேசத்தில் வேரூன்றியவர்களாக, பஹ்ரைனில் வாழ்வை உருவாக்கியதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல் தொழில்முனைவுத் திறன், தானம், பக்தி ஆகிய சிறப்பான மரபுகளையும் தம்மோடு கொண்டு சென்றனர். பஹரைனில் குடியேறியபோதும், பொருளாதார முன்னேற்றத்துடன் இணைந்து திருவிழாக்கள் மற்றும் சமூக வலையமைப்புகள் வழியாக வலுவான ஆன்மீக மற்றும் கலாச்சா பிணைப்புகளை பாதுகாத்து தாய்நாட்டிற்கு வெளியிலும், நகரத்தார் சமூகத்தினர் ஒன்றிணைவு, பாரம்பரியம், சேவை ஆகிய தன்னலமற்ற மற்ற பண்புகளை நிலைநிறுத்தி வருகிறார்கள்.
இந்தக் கருத்தை முன்னிறுத்தி மற்றும் முன்னெடுத்து செல்ல பஹரைன் நகரத்தார் சங்கம் (BNS) எனும் செடி ……… அன்று திரு. அண்ணாமலை மற்றும் சில ஒத்திசைவுள்ள உறுப்பினர்களின் முன்முயற்சியால் நடப்பட்டது. அந்நாளில் நட்டு வைக்கப்பட்ட அந்தச் சிறிய செடி இன்று வலுவான மரமாக வளர்ந்து, சுமார் 40 குடும்பங்களை இணைக்கும் ஒரு மதிப்புமிக்க,சிறப்புமிக்க சங்கமாக, செட்டிநாடு பாரம்பரியத்தின் பெருமையைக் பஹ்ரைனில் தொடர்ச்சியாக வெளிப்படுத்தி வருகிறது.
– குழுவின் நோக்கங்கள்
- லாபமின்றிசெயல்படும், தொண்டு பணிக்கான, மற்றும் அரசியல் சாரமற்ற அமைப்பாக செயல்படுதல்.
- உறுப்பினர்களின்பங்களிப்புடன் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் சந்திப்புகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்து, ஆன்மிக நடைபயணங்கள், மாதாந்திர சஷ்டி, திருப்புகல் வாசிப்பு போன்ற செயல்பாடுகள் மூலம் அனைவரும் இணைந்திருப்பதை உறுதி செய்தல்.
- புதிதாகவந்த நகரத்தார்கள் (தனித்துவ வாழும் உறவினர்கள் அல்லது குடும்பங்கள்) ஐ அறிமுகம் செய்து, சங்கம்உறுப்பினர்களுடன் இணைந்திருப்பதை உணர வைப்பது, தங்கள் குடும்பம், நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் உறவினர்களிடமிருந்து தூரமாக இருப்பினும்.
- புதியஉறுப்பினர்களுக்காக உறுப்பினர் பதிவு படிவத்தை நிரப்பி நிர்வாக குழுவிற்கு சமர்ப்பிக்க வேண்டும்.
- எங்கள்பாரம்பரியம், கலாச்சார மதிப்புகள் மற்றும் விருந்தோம்பல் மரபுகளை அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு கற்பித்தல் மற்றும் பரம்பரைக்குத் தொடர்த்தல்.
- உறுப்பினர்களின்பங்களிப்பின் மூலம் கல்வி மற்றும் திருமண உதவிகளை எங்கள் ஊர்க்குடியினருக்கு வழங்குதல்.
- தெளிவுத்தன்மை மற்றும் நியாயத்தன்மைஉறுதி செய்வதற்காக,தொண்டு பிரிவு குழு உறுப்பினர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு காலாண்டிலும் சந்தித்து கல்வி மற்றும் திருமண உதவிக்கான விண்ணப்பங்களை பரிசீலித்து, உள்ள நிதியை பொருத்து தகுதியுள்ளவர்களை தேர்வு செய்வார்கள்.
- உறுப்பினர்களின்ஒப்புதலின்படி, சங்கம் முக்கிய நோய் சம்பந்தமான உதவிகளை இந்த வருடத்திலிருந்து வழங்கத் தொடங்கும்.
- சங்கம்நிதி திரட்டும் நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் ஈடுபடாது;தொண்டு பணிகளுக்கான பங்களிப்புகள் அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களால் செய்யப்படும்.
- ஆண்டிற்குஇரண்டு சந்திப்புகளை (ஒரு கோடை, ஒரு குளிர்காலம்) நிகழ்வுகள் குழுவினால் ஏற்பாடு செய்து விளையாட்டு, நிகழ்ச்சி மற்றும் கலாச்சார செயல்பாடுகள் நடத்துதல்.
- கணக்குப்பாத்திரத்தைஉறுதி செய்வதற்காக,வருட இறுதிக் கூட்டத்தில் அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் வருடாந்திர நிதி விவரங்களை பகிர்ந்து, தெளிவுத்தன்மையை உறுதி செய்து முன்னேற வழிவகுத்தல்.
- நகரத்தார்களின்பொதுவான பாரம்பரிய திருவிழா,பிள்ளையார் நொன்பு,ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஒரு உறுப்பினரால் முதல் வரிசை அடிப்படையில் நடத்தப்படும்; முதன்முறையாக நடத்தும் உறுப்பினருக்கு முன்னுரிமை வழங்கப்படும்.
